Optometry Giving Sight with Isthmus Eye Care

Isthmus Eye Care is honored to be a part of the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to refractive error.

Optometry giving sightOptometry Giving Sight was established in 2003 to address the needs of the 300 million men, women and children around the world who are blind or vision impaired simply because they don’t have access to an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Why? Because in some countries there are not enough trained eye care personnel and there is no personnel or infrastructure to support these desperately needed eye care services.

Optometry Giving Sight is a global fundraising campaign reaching out to the more than 200,000 optometrists around the world, and their 325 million patients to fund the solution.

Optometry Giving Sight supports programs that offer not only eye exams and glasses in countries with little or no access to them, but that establish the infrastructure and train local human resources required for sustainable, quality vision care.optometry giving sight

In supportive efforts with Optometry Giving Sight, Isthmus Eye Care matches all of our patient donations. Isthmus Eye Care doctors, staff and patients have donated nearly $90,000 toward this worthy cause to date. In 2012, Isthmus Eye Care was honored to be named the Practice of the Year for outstanding fundraising efforts for Optometry Giving Sight.

Visit the Optometry Giving Sight website for more information and please consider making a donation today.
