Varilux Physio -- Breakthrough Scientific Advancement of Vision in
Progressive Lenses
The newest design in no-line, progressive addition lenses (PALs) make them
more advanced than ever. No longer are PALs referred to as "no-line
bifocals"... because they truly are lenses that blend multiple distances of
vision. From far vision, to middle vision, to near vision, the Physio
establishes a new standard in PAL design. Launched to the public in January
2006, the Varilux Physio is available from Isthmus Eye Care today.
While many people had trouble with no-line bifocals in the early 1990's and
still some adaptation delays with PALs of the late 1990's, the Physio lens
enhances vision by offering the most sophisticated optics ever offered.
Varilux is a trusted name in the PAL industry, and lens wearers have enjoyed
much success with previous Varilux models including the Infinity, Comfort,
and Panamic.
The Physio is the first PAL lens to utilize the W.A.V.E. design -- Wavefront
Advanced Vision Enhancement. In simple terms, this means that the front
surface of the lens has been computer-designed to refine the light that is
focused toward the eye. Wavefront technology is being used to enhance the
vision of laser vision correction, and is a growing standard in the eye care
profession. The result of the W.A.V.E. technology is significant visual
sharpness by reduction of higher-order optical distortion.
Varilux has also launched a partner lens, the Physio 360, which uses a
special technique to also provide wavefront optical enhancement on the back
surface of the lens. This lens will be of special interest to individuals
with higher prescriptions or astigmatism. This lens is intended for the
very discriminating visual person, due to its excellent optical quality and
its special use of surface treatments to eliminate glare and static
electricity.
