Dr. Colin V. Connors understands the importance of good eye health in achieving life goals.

Born and raised in the Middleton area, Dr. Colin Connors moved to Chicago to study biology at DePaul University, and then graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2009. Upon graduation, Dr. Colin Connors was excited at the opportunity to get back home to Wisconsin and the Madison area.

Dr. Colin Connors enjoys seeing patients of all ages, including those as young as six months to one year as a participant in the InfantSEE program. Dr. Colin Connors believes that through listening and understanding he can help to serve his patients, offering them the best solutions to their health and vision needs. He is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Wisconsin Optometric Association. Dr. Colin is an active member of the Optimist Club in Middleton and believes strongly in building and being engaged in the community.

Dr. Colin spends his time outside the office by spending it with his wonderful wife Tricia, children Declan and Maeve, and Bernedoodle Daisy. He enjoys grilling on the weekends and getting outside in Wisconsin for hiking and fishing. He loves music at home in Verona, concerts as well as watching and playing sports with his kids.

Dr. BoKaye M. Dietmeier is a proud Wisconsin native and enjoys seeing patients of all ages.

She specializes in managing different ocular conditions such as dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She has additional expertise in fitting specialty contact lenses and pediatrics.

Dr. Dietmeier was born and raised in central Wisconsin, where she developed a great love of the outdoors at a young age. In 2009, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology along with minors in Chemistry and Biotechnology. In 2013, she earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Indiana University, graduating with honors and was awarded the Dean’s Scholar Researcher award for her research in clinical optics. During her external training, she had the honor of caring for veterans at the Lexington VA Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Immediately after graduating, Dr. Dietmeier returned to Wisconsin, and practiced for several years in a hospital group ophthalmology/optometry practice, where she provided urgent care and comprehensive eye exams to patients of all ages. Being a mother herself, she enjoys seeing children and helping parents understand how to best take care of their child’s vision. Dr. Dietmeier loves to get to know her patients and takes time to listen to them and work with them to meet their visual and eye health needs.

In 2020, her passion for learning drove her to successfully complete an additional board certification and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Dietmeier is also a member of the American Optometric Association, Wisconsin Optometric Association, and Madison Area Optometric Society. 

Outside of the exam room, you can find her in the stands, with her husband, cheering on their two children in their many sporting activities. As a family, they enjoy hiking the beautiful Wisconsin State Parks, fishing, and spending time in the Wisconsin Northwoods. Dr. Dietmeier has a passion for photography, genealogy, and loves being outside tending to her flower garden.

Dr. Richard M. Jun is honored to be part of the Isthmus Eye Care family.

He specializes in pediatrics, binocular vision disorders, and vision therapy. He is proud to continue providing the very best in personalized eye care for Middleton, Madison, and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Jun grew up in the quiet suburb of Flossmoor, Illinois then attended the Loyola University of Chicago on a full academic scholarship. He graduated with academic honors and awards, cum laude. Dr. Jun headed to New York City to attend State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry where he graduated in 2006 with an award for excellence in primary care. He completed SUNY’s residency program for Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation in 2007.

Dr. Jun was the Chief Optometrist at Pediatric EyeMD with pediatric ophthalmology in New York City for five years. In 2012 Dr. Jun made the move back to the Midwest to pursue his passion for providing quality eye care for patients of all ages. Dr. Jun finds building relationships with his patients the most rewarding part of providing eye care.

He is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. His dedication to service has led him to participate in Remote Access Medical missions and Special Olympics. He is an active member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County and was nominated as Big of the Year in 2023.

Dr. Jun is passionate about adventure traveling, fitness, and hiking. He loves spending time outdoors with his girlfriend, Megan, and their rescued pit bulls. You may run into them in the Schenk-Atwood neighborhood, where they live. He is a published amateur comic book artist and enjoys collecting action figures.

Dr. Jonathan D. Garcia was born and raised in the Bay Area of California.

He attended San Jose State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and a minor in chemistry in 2011. After college, he spent two years working and learning all aspects of private practice optometry and became passionate about eye care.

Ready for a change, Dr. Garcia decided to venture out to the east coast to study at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, Massachusetts. During his time at NECO, he was part of the Spanish Club and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). In his third year of optometry school, he traveled to the Dominican Republic to provide free eye care and manage eye disease in underserved populations.

After graduating optometry school in 2017, Dr. Garcia moved to the Midwest to start his professional career in the great city of Madison. He is very excited to join the Isthmus Eye Care team and bring his experience in laser vision correction co-management from his time at our trusted partner, TLC Laser Vision Center.

In his free time, Dr. Garcia enjoys staying active through recreational sports like softball, football, and volleyball. When not playing sports, he enjoys exercising, riding his bike, cooking, drinking coffee, eating tacos, and traveling internationally. El doctor García también habla español.

Dr. Aja L. Kimrey was raised in the small town of Mendota, Illinois, only two hours south of Madison.

She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology, and a minor in Spanish, in 2011. From there, Dr. Kimrey traveled to Memphis, Tennessee to study at Southern College of Optometry (SCO), where she graduated summa cum laude in 2015. While at SCO, Dr. Kimrey was actively involved in the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and was the recipient of the Academic and Clinical Excellence Award as well as the Outstanding Clinician Award.

Dr. Kimrey is an active member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She has traveled to Tela, Honduras to provide free eye care to those in need and is passionate about playing a role in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of eye disease. She enjoys spending time answering her patients' questions and hopes all of her patients leave their eye exam more knowledgeable about their eye health.

In her free time, Aja enjoys spending time with her family: husband Nick, daughter Malia, and son Cooper. Together, they reside in Waunakee where they enjoy spending time outdoors, trying new restaurants and breweries, and watching football - Go Packers!

Dr. Stephanie A. Koss believes that each patient is unique, and she strives to tailor her care to meet the needs of each individual.

A Wisconsin native, Dr. Stephanie A. Koss received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2018, and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2022, graduating with honors.

During her fourth year, Dr. Koss completed clinical externship rotations in various locations across the country, including Colorado, New York, and Illinois. She completed a post-graduate optometric residency program in Ocular Disease/Primary Care at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, IL.

Throughout her training and education, Dr. Koss has received several awards and honors, including the Tomb and Key Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, as well as the Clinical Excellence Award for receiving honors at each of her fourth year externship sites. She was also granted various scholarships for her excellence and competency in academics and patient care.

Dr. Koss is passionate about patient education and advocating for the importance of eye care to the general public. Some of her optometric interests include primary care, ocular disease, emergency eye care, glaucoma, dry eye, and neuro-optometry. Dr. Koss has presented at several optometric meetings across the country, and she was awarded Fellowship status through American Academy of Optometry in 2023.

In her free time, Dr. Koss enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, family, and friends, reading, playing board games, cooking, traveling, jet-skiing on the Wisconsin river, trying new local breweries, and listening to music of all decades.

Dr. Callie M.P. Maursetter is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association.

A Wisconsin native, Dr. Maursetter grew up in Waupaca, Wisconsin, where she graduated valedictorian from Waupaca High School. She then attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she earned her bachelor's degree in biochemistry, graduating cum laude in 2005.

Dr. Maursetter graduated in 2009, magna cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She was also awarded membership into the Gold Key, Beta Sigma Kappa, and Tomb & Key optometric honor societies, and received the clinical excellence award for top clinical honors at all of her internship sites.

Dr. Maursetter sees patients of all ages and particularly enjoys patient education about eye health and vision. She has presented to local groups in the community to increase public awareness about vision and eye health.

In her spare time, Callie enjoys spending time with her family: her husband Erik, daughter Britta, and son Bryce. They reside on the southeast side of Madison between Cottage Grove and McFarland. She stays busy with all sorts of kids activities and also enjoys travel, one of her favorite destinations being Door County. And when the Wisconsin weather gets cooler, you can find her sliding on the ice at the Madison Curling Club.

Dr. Timothy N. Wilson is proud to continue the great tradition of providing personalized vision care as a partner at Isthmus Eye Care.

A native of Orland Park, Illinois, Dr. Wilson attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, graduating with honors in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He continued his studies in Chicago at the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) graduating cum laude in 2006.

Dr. Wilson greatly enjoys the opportunity to provide trusted eye care for patients of all ages at Isthmus Eye Care. His goal is to bring the latest in eye care technology to his patients to best meet their visual and ocular health needs.

Dr. Wilson is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Madison Area Optometric Society, and Wisconsin Optometric Association. He enjoys giving back to the community as a member of the Fitchburg Lions Club.

Outside the exam room, Tim is an outdoor enthusiast and greatly enjoys the numerous hiking, kayaking, and boating opportunities available in Wisconsin. He and his wife, Emmylou, enjoy traveling to destinations around the globe. They reside in the Madison area with their dog, a Havanese named Penny.

Abbey Bernstein is our valued Clinic Manager at Isthmus Eye Care.

She is passionate about Isthmus Eye Care and strives to provide the best patient experience.

In her spare time, Abbey enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, his two children, and their Shiba Inu. She also enjoys reading, watching Wisconsin sports, and exploring Madison.

Christi Isaak is our valued Clinic Manager at Isthmus Eye Care.

Outside the clinic you can find me exploring new restaurants, diverse music and art with my children, or embracing the great outdoors whether hiking a beautiful trail in Wisconsin or enjoying time with my extended family at "The Lake" in Minnesota.

Chris Riese-Ochalla is our valued Business Manager at Isthmus Eye Care.

Chris oversees the business operations part of Isthmus Eye Care. She works with the staff, managers, and doctors to ensure the business side of optometry doesn't interfere with great patient care.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, and her daughter-in-law. She enjoys hiking, reading, and any and all sports.
